SYROS BEACHES AND WATER SPORTS

The beaches of the island are some of the nicest beaches of the Cyclades meeting the tastes and preferences of all travelers.

Following the coastline one can choose to swim in one of the most renowned and fully organized beaches of Syros or try out various water sports activities, relax in one of the most exotic and secluded beaches preferred by nudists or spend their day on one of the sandy beaches that are selected mainly from families with young children. Most of the beaches of Syros are located near the most picturesque settlements and the most popular attractions of Syros enabling travelers to combine a relaxing stroll with a refreshing swim in the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.

AMBELA BEACH

On the way to Posidonia and approximately 1 km after the beach of Mega Gialos one can find the beautiful, secluded and sheltered Abela beach. It is a beach with golden sand and crystal clear waters offering some umbrellas by the sea as well as some proposals for snacks, coffee and exquisite meals in the excellent restaurant located in the small village of the region. Just 12.5 km away from Ermoupoli, Abela beach offers a small oasis of peace and relaxation.

AETOS BEACH

Aetos is a charming small beach on the Northwest part of Syros that offers an oasis of calm and serenity away from the tourist resorts. It is a natural bay with turquoise waters and golden sand. It can be reached by boat from Kini or on foot either by taking a hiking path from Barbarousa (distance about 1 km.) or from Ano Syros (distance about 5.5 km.) Either way, swimming in the emerald waters will compensate one’s effort. For those looking for absolute privacy the small beach on the right of Aetos is definitely the perfect choice.
